Subject and Purpose of the International Ombudsman Conference

The Ombudsman Institution started receiving its first applications in 2013, and 2023 marks the 10th year of the Institution. It is of great importance to evaluate the level that the institution has reached in Türkiye, and the power and the momentum it has achieved by establishing new networks at the international level in its 10th year. It is also of great importance to provide a global perspective on human rights in the next century. Therefore, the conference, which will be dedicated to the 10th year of the Ombudsman Institution, will be held on “the Future of Human Rights in the 21st Century”.

In the conference, it is aimed to discuss the changes and developments in the field of human rights, taking into account the rapid developments in the first quarter of the 21st century. Attention will be drawn to the responsibilities and roles of the Ombudsmen and human rights representatives and their contributions to the protection and development of human rights in the 21st century.
